Marshal
Summary
An officer of the United States appointed for specified time and bound to execute faithfully all legal processes of federal courts. A marshal can appoint deputies and normally has the same powers to execute federal laws as sheriffs have in executing laws of their states or constables have in executing their city ordinances.
