Biography

28 Mar. 1784–19 Aug. 1846. Farmer, brick maker, potash manufacturer. Born in New Grantham, Cheshire Co., New Hampshire. Son of William Huntington and Prescendia Lathrop. Married first Zina Baker, 28 Dec. 1806, in Plainfield, Sullivan Co. Moved to Watertown Co., New York, by 1806. Joined Presbyterian church, 1816. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Apr. 1835. Ordained an elder, 3 Sept. 1835. Moved to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, Oct. 1836. Appointed to Kirtland high council, fall 1837. Moved to Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri, July 1838. Moved to Commerce (later Nauvoo), Hancock Co., Illinois, May 1839. Wife died, 8 July 1839, in Nauvoo. Married second Lydia Clisbee Partridge, 1840. Died in Pisgah, Harrison Co., Iowa Territory.
