I am well acquainted with them & commend them to you as gentlemen. They desire to see the & will oblige them & myself by permitting [p. [43]]
Noyes, a newspaper publisher, and Scott were prominent citizens from Pike County, Illinois, who served as two of their county’s delegates to the anti-Mormon convention held at Carthage on 1 and 2 October 1845.
